A Fermentation Fiesta: Celebrating Ferments from Latin America with Austin Durant

We invite you to join Fermenters Club’s founder, Austin Durant for an evening of fermentation magic. Having founded The Fermenters Club back in 2011 and is an all-round fermentation master teaching ferments from sauerkraut to sourdough, kimchi to koji. With the chance to make and go home with one of his favourite recipes, Austin is joining us from the US for a one-off event.
Austin will be hosting the evening, introducing how his passion for fermentation has driven his work for nearly fifteen years. He'll focus on Latin American inspired ferments, demonstrating how to make escabeche (a spicy veggie mix with carrots and cauliflower) and will provide step by step guidance and advice on making your own curtido, a Latin American style sauerkraut to take home.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask Austin your fermentation questions as well as take home a copy of his fabulous book! Fearless Fermenting tells you everything you need to know about “how to boldly craft fermented foods which nourish your body, heal your gut, and feed your soul”.
Please bring a jar (approx. 350 - 500ml) to take your homemade curtido home in.
