Hello and Happy Lunar New Year!

As part of our classes schedule we now offer Gut Health Talks and Tasting Sessions.

We collaborated with Nuria Rodriguez, a certified nutritional therapist and health coach, and we invite you to come to the community house The Mill E17 and learn about the connection between the gut and the brain. Discover how they communicate with each other and some of the mechanisms that allow that communication. Find out how that connection impacts your health and learn practical tips to improve the gut-brain communication.

Ferments are an important tool for keeping your gut healthy and for improving that communication, so as part of the talk we will be providing tasting of our various fermented foods and drinks.

This is a unique opportunity to learn more about your gut health and taste some amazing ferments, there will Q&A session at the end and you will be able to ask Nuria and The Fermentarium team your questions.

This is a free event, so the places will be allocated on the first come first serve basis. All you need is to show up at the Mill around 10 minutes prior to 1 pm on 12 February.

We hope to seeing you there!

Join the Festive Baking Revival!

What a year! What a time to bake something special for the festive period.

This year we are launching the Festive Baking Revival.

We will be publishing a festive cake, bread or biscuit recipe each day throughout December until the 24th.

The recipes come from all over the continent including Dresdner stollen, pfefferneuse, roscon de reyes, kletzenbrot, panettone, cozanoc, saffransbullar, vanocka, bejgli and many more.

So come and join us and bake a xmas cake, a festive loaf or spice biscuits for family, friends, colleagues, a key worker and for yourself!

We will be producing a Festive Recipe PDF booklet which will include all the recipes along with techniques to improve your baking skills! The proceeds which we raise from this project we will be donating to two charities which work to improve the lives of refugees both here and abroad. They are:

Breadwinners

A grassroots charity providing work experience for refugees and young people seeking asylum on their London market stalls and through their online bread delivery. They also provide employability training, social networks and mentoring for their programme members.

LifeLine International

Lifeline began the ‘Bread of Life Bakery Project’ with partners to support refugee camps in Irbil and Dohuk.  They now continue to support two bakeries in refugee camps in Iraq.
